AWS AIF-C01 exam domains explained
Every question and every answer is checked twice before you see it.
The AWS Certified AI Practitioner (AIF-C01) exam is split into 5 domains. Here is what each one covers, how much of the exam the provider says it is worth, and where to practise it.
- Fundamentals of AI and ML (20% of the exam)
The vocabulary of machine learning: what a model is, how it learns from data, how it is measured, and how it is used once it is trained. - Fundamentals of GenAI (24% of the exam)
What generative AI can and cannot do, the building blocks behind it (tokens, embeddings, large language models), the idea of AI agents, and which AWS services provide them. - Applications of Foundation Models (28% of the exam)
The largest domain. It is about choosing and shaping a model for a job: prompting it well, adding your own data with retrieval, fine-tuning when needed, and measuring whether the result is any good. - Guidelines for Responsible AI (14% of the exam)
How to build AI that is fair, safe and explainable, and what can go wrong legally and ethically when it is not. - Security, Compliance, and Governance for AI Solutions (14% of the exam)
Protecting AI systems and the data they use, keeping a record of where data came from, and meeting the rules that apply to AI.
Practise by domain
Our AWS AIF-C01 practice tests cover all of these areas, with an explanation for every answer option.
