CompTIA Data+ exam domains explained
Every question and every answer is checked twice before you see it.
The CompTIA Data+ (DA0-002) exam is split into 5 domains. Here is what each one covers, how much of the exam the provider says it is worth, and where to practise it.
- Data Concepts and Environments (20% of the exam)
Where data lives and what it looks like: the types of databases and files, the places data comes from, and the tools analysts use to work with it. - Data Acquisition and Preparation (22% of the exam)
Getting data and making it usable. Most analysis time goes here: pulling data together, spotting gaps and oddities, and cleaning it before anything is measured. - Data Analysis (24% of the exam)
The largest domain: choosing a suitable statistical method, applying it correctly, explaining the answer to the people who need it, and fixing problems when numbers do not add up. - Visualization and Reporting (20% of the exam)
Turning results into something a reader can understand at a glance: picking the right chart, building a dashboard, and checking the figures are right before they are shared. - Data Governance (14% of the exam)
The rules around data: who owns it, who may see it, how long it is kept, and how its quality is checked.
Practise by domain
Our CompTIA Data+ practice tests cover all of these areas, with an explanation for every answer option.
