Microsoft PL-900 exam domains explained
Every question and every answer is checked twice before you see it.
The Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Fundamentals (PL-900) exam is split into 5 domains. Here is what each one covers, how much of the exam the provider says it is worth, and where to practise it.
- Describe the business value of Microsoft Power Platform (5-10% of the exam)
The smallest domain. It asks why a business would use each part of the platform: apps, automation, data storage, websites and agents. - Manage the Microsoft Power Platform environment (20-25% of the exam)
How data is stored and protected on the platform, how separate workspaces called environments are used, and how changes move safely from build to production. - Demonstrate the capabilities of Power Apps (20-25% of the exam)
The kinds of apps you can build and when each fits, including how AI can draft an app for you. - Demonstrate the capabilities of Power Automate (20-25% of the exam)
Automating repeated work: what starts a flow, what it does next, and the difference between flows that run in the cloud and flows that drive a desktop. - Describe features and capabilities of agents in Microsoft Copilot Studio (20-25% of the exam)
How an AI agent is built and run: what it is allowed to talk about, where it gets its facts, what it can do, where people reach it, and how you check it works.
Practise by domain
